Tongan Beans are the Holy Grail!
I recently received 1 ounce of the Tongan beans and oh my mercy! They were very long and plump! I usually split most of my beans but I left them whole so I could use their caviar at a later date! They were just too perfect to cut lol. And they were SO oily that it looked like someone had actually poured oil in the package! I had to be careful opening and handling so I didnβt lose that oil! You know thatβs going to make the BEST Vanilla Sugar!!!

The Black magic beans are just that ,magical !! The 2024 Black magic beans went into Villon cognac,. At the one year mark, this extract was amazing with a taste test, It still will sit another year. The 2025 black magic beans are going into , you guessed it, Villon Cognac. Plus I just might put 2 ounces into vodka. I can not wait for the 2026 Black Magic beans to be for sale.

Hi Linda! Vanilla Beans vary a lot in size so we prefer to weigh our beans to make sure we have the right amount. We recommend 1 oz of beans for every 8oz of alcohol. So for 5oz of alcohol you would need 0.6oz of beans for a single fold extract. For double fold extract you would need 1.2oz. Hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions :-)

Hi Susan! Great point, you can absolutely still go with the general rule of 1oz of beans to 8oz of alcohol, this tool is just helpful for those times when you have more or less alcohol or want to try making a double fold extract, or if you want to check your calculations!
What happened the the βruleβ of 1oz beans to 8oz alcohol?? Why the change?
This is such a great tool for novice vanilla extract makers! It completely takes the guess work or calculator gymnastics out of the equation!
