VanillaPura's V. planifolia Costa Rican Vanilla Beans are of the highest quality and boast a flavor that is unique to the central American region. These aren't the smokey and spicy vanilla beans from Mexico up north, nor are they the extra sweet and fruity vanilla beans from Ecuador down south. These are V. planifolia, so they will be a strong, creamy rich vanilla, but the rich soils of Costa Rica where coffee and cacao are grown will provide this bean a hint of chocolate and mocha, with a soft understated dried fruit accent that hints of figs and raisins. It's a beautiful vanilla experience.
(Costa Rica settled between Nicaragua & Panama)
We named this vanilla bean after the favorite phrase of Costa Ricans used in both greetings and salutations, "Pura Vida!". If you have visited Costa Rica then you know the vibe, the feeling and the culture that comes from wishing everyone a "Pure Life!". We thought it an appropriate name as we wish each of you...a pure extract!
On average, there are 5-8 beans/oz depending on the moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 3 beans or as many as 10 beans. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.
