Finding the perfect bottle for making your vanilla extract is the final touch that represents the time, effort and personal creativity that went into your sweet creation.
Watch our video for some important jar considerations:
The beans came vacuum sealed and seem to be fresh. They seem full bodied and not dried out at all. I am well satisfied with the quality. I have just immersed them in four 6oz. bottles of Vodka. I believe the ratio that I used will yield about a 1.45 cut. I intend to let them age for at least 1 year or more. I guess I will know the true quality of the beans at that time but from the looks and feel of the beans I expect a good quality extract. This is my third attempt at making vanilla extract. I have my first attempt that has been aging for slightly over 1 year in Bourbon. I bought the beans from a different supplier and they were not as good a quality as these. I hope and believe these beans will do better than my first attempt. I will say my first attempt has produced some of the best tasting Bourbon I have ever had but it is not even close to vanilla extract.
