VanillaPura's planifolia Indonesian Vanilla Beans are of the highest quality and have a rich, sweet aroma. This particular vanilla bean originates from a small island in one of the most southern regions of Indonesia.

When you first open a pouch of Alor Island vanilla beans, your nose will be met with a traditional and powerful vanilla scent that is characteristic of Planifolia vanilla beans like Madagascar and Mexican. But behind the vanilla scent, you will quickly notice a caramel vanilla spice scent. As you bring an individual bean closer to your nose, the rummy aroma becomes more pronounced with subtle hints of dried fruit. Finally, after months (or even years) of extraction, your finished extract will demonstrate a super sweet, classic vanilla aroma as the vanillin oils reach their peak taste and give way to a delightful vanilla experience with rummy undertones and hints of caramel..
Alor Island Indonesian vanilla beans are very oily and great for use in making vanilla sugar. They boast a high vanillin content, making them ideal for virtually any baking application where conspicuous vanilla sweetness is desired. These are plump vanilla beans, and are usually between 5" and 7" inches long and have a dark brown color.
VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.
On average, there are 5-8 beans/oz depending on the moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 5 beans or as many as 15 beans. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.
