VanillaPura's planifolia New Caledonia Vanilla Beans are of the highest quality and a rich and sweet aroma. This particular vanilla bean originates from the tropical region of our planet just east of Australia, north of New Zealand and Southwest of Vanuatu. James Cook was the first European to discover this remote part of the world in 1774. He named it "New Caledonia" because the North East side of the island reminded him of Scotland.

When you first open a pouch of The Farino New Caledonia vanilla beans, your nose will be met with a bold traditional vanilla scent that is exceptionally rich with hints of vanilla cream. And is that a hint of a raisin or a fig? After months (or even years) of extraction, your finished extract will demonstrate a powerful vanilla sweetness with traditional vanilla undertones but a rich creaminess that underscores this vanilla bean's propensity towards classic vanilla goodness. It can be used in almost every culinary creation including creams, pastries, chocolate, savory dishes and more.

New Caledonia vanilla beans are very oily and high in vanillin content. In fact, when the first shipment arrived they were covered in vanillin crystals, demonstrating exceptional curing with high quality and an artisanship derived from a culture that only wants to ship the very best of what it offers to the rest of the world. These are long vanilla beans. Some of them measured 9" to nearly 10", but 6"-7" seemed to be the average.

VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.

On average, there are 4-5 beans/oz depending on the moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 3 beans or as many as 10 beans. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.
