A yummy addition to a weekend brunch. The perfect combination... crispy vanilla bean scone... sweet gooey vanilla bean glaze!

 Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 VanillaPura Madagascar vanilla bean, scraped

Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 VanillaPura Madagascar vanilla bean, scraped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large stand mixer bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and butter.  Mix on low until crumbs form.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine milk, eggs, and vanilla bean paste.  Add mixture to flour mixture in the stand mixer bowl.  Mix until dough comes together.
  4. Transfer dough to a well-floured surface and form the dough into a circle that is 1" thick.  Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the dough into 8 wedges.  Transfer to baking sheet and place in the oven.  Bake for 15-17 minutes or until edges are golden.

Glaze

While scones are cooling, combine glaze ingredients in a small mixing bowl.  Whisk together until well combined.  Drizzle over scones.
