A yummy addition to a weekend brunch. The perfect combination... crispy vanilla bean scone... sweet gooey vanilla bean glaze!
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 VanillaPura Madagascar vanilla bean, scraped
Glaze
- 1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 VanillaPura Madagascar vanilla bean, scraped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large stand mixer bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and butter. Mix on low until crumbs form.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine milk, eggs, and vanilla bean paste. Add mixture to flour mixture in the stand mixer bowl. Mix until dough comes together.
- Transfer dough to a well-floured surface and form the dough into a circle that is 1" thick. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the dough into 8 wedges. Transfer to baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until edges are golden.
Glaze
While scones are cooling, combine glaze ingredients in a small mixing bowl. Whisk together until well combined. Drizzle over scones.
