VanillaPura's V. cribbiana vanilla beans are an exquisite example of traditional, wild vanilla. Perhaps this is what the Aztecs and Mayans experienced shortly after vanilla beans were discovered and began to be cultivated. We bring these beautiful vanilla beans to you from the tropics of Guatemala in the world's bean belt.

Guatemala map

When you first open a pouch of The Flores Guatemalan vanilla beans, your nose will be met with a powerful vanilla aroma. You will tease out conspicuous undertones of of brown sugar, honey, dried fruit, perhaps raisins and a hint of chocolate. After months (or even years) of extraction, your finished extract will demonstrate a rich, beautiful taste and aroma that is uniquely rare and entirely sweet.

Guatemalan V. cribbiana vanilla beans can be very oily (much like their V. bahiana cousins found in our Chiapas vanilla beans) and great for use in making vanilla sugar. They boast a high vanillin content that is expected in this species of bean. They are ideal for virtually any baking application where conspicuous vanilla sweetness is desired. These are plump vanilla beans, and are usually between 3"-5" inches long and have a dark brown color.

VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.

Flores Island

(The small city of Flores, Guatemala located on an island with a single road in.)

On average, there are 3-7 beans/oz depending on the moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 3 beans or as many as 10 beans. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.

Great buy

I recently received the Guatemalan beans from a group buy, and was far from disappointed. They were approximately 4” of plump, oily goodness ready to dip into the rum (also from Guatemala). The description was accurate, and I was quite pleased with the quality of the beans. Now the wait begins ❤️

Heaven in a Bean!

Oh my! These beans are short, plump and pliable, and the oilest beans I've bought so far. The vanilla aroma is outstanding. It is no surprise these beans are sold out. I will definitely order these again when available! Highly recommend!

Flores cribbiana

These beans aim to please…. Very soft, pliable, n are slathered in lotsa oils. They remind me of the Chiapas…short little plump beans with a reddish oil , n a chocolatey fragrance. Highly recommend.

Opening this package was like smelling a sweet chocolate cake. These beans are so oily and plump. Vanilla extract from these beans will be perfect in any chocolatey dessert
