This is a very difficult bean to find and is available in a very limited quantity.

Like all VanillaPura beans, the Avarua Cook Island beans are of the highest quality. They are plump, dark, extremely rich in oils and have a delicate and sweet floral fragrance that set them apart by any other beans. Their undertones are primarily a traditional vanilla aroma and taste when used for extract making, but with a soft hint of anise and cherry finish. Light spirits like vodka, white rum and tequila are best when using this bean in your DIY extracts.

Cook Island Map

The location of the Cook Islands tells the story of this remarkable bean. North West of Tahiti, South of Hawaii and quite a distance from Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, this tiny bean captures the essence of its remote location on our planet in a way that few other beans do.

When you first open a pouch of Avarua Cook Island vanilla beans, your nose will be met with a burst of tropical fauna and sweetness with a subtle anise accent. A flavor and aroma burst that teases the senses and enlivens your favorite desserts and pastries.

These vanilla beans are very oily and rich with vanillin. They are usually between 4" and 7" inches long and have a dark brown color. Like all vanilla beans from VanillaPura, they are backed by our 100%, no questions asked satisfaction guarantee.

VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.

Lovely beans

Got 6beans in 1oz and put them in vodka. They were really nice and oily beans. And smelled amazing, very fruity vanilla smell. The sugar from this bag will be so good. They seem to smell a bit stronger than other Tahitensis beans which is definitely a plus if you like smelling your hands once you are done 😅

Avarua Cook Island Beans

This was the first time I smelled a Tahitensis bean directly after a planifolia…. Definitely a surprise. The Cook Island beans a big n plump n soft with lots of oil n there were only 5 beans to make an ounce … n that was after I cut the tips off. They’re a lovely bean.🤎

Another Great Bean!

What a lovely Tahitensis bean. They are super plump, incredibly oily, and smell of flowers and tart cherries.
