What can I tell you that you haven't already heard about chocolate chip cookies?? Not much. They're a classic. I think I was 5 or 6 the first time I made them. There are probably millions of recipes and various alterations the people have reinvented over and over again.
So why talk about them here? Because it's one of the perfect items to make the first time you cook with VanillaPura vanilla extract. It's perfect because you will notice the difference. For me, there's just one extract that I would use in chocolate chip cookies: Madagascar-Rum.
Madagascar extract is buttery and the rum makes it extra sweet. If you think that vanilla extract doesn't make a difference, just wait until you try it in your classic chocolate-chip-cookie recipe. It matters and it's so sweet!
So give it a try!! Here's a super-simple recipe:
3/4 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/4 cup flour
12 oz bag chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375.
In stand-up mixer, cream butter, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined. Mix in baking soda and salt and gradually add flour. Stir in chocolate chips.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 9-11 minutes.
