This is such a simple and fun recipe that comes from my husband's side of the family. It's a super-easy hot fudge topping that is fantastic over vanilla ice cream, brownies or just about anything. It's also an AMAZING crepe filling!

It's thick and creamy and usually settles at the bottom of the bowl and is so good to scrape up on your spoon or on your brownie/ice cream one bite at a time. You can make it in just a few minutes.

For anything chocolate, I will normally use a Mexican or Indonesian vanilla extract. The subtle smokey and slightly spicy vanilla tones add a depth and richness to chocolate that makes it even more tasty!

Give it a try this weekend and let me know what you think!!

Ingredients

    1/4 cup cocoa
      cup granulated sugar
        3/4 cup evaporated milk
          1/4 cup butter
            1/8 teaspoon salt
              1/2 teaspoon vanilla
              Instructions
Stir cocoa and sugar together well. In a saucepan combine milk, butter, salt, and vanilla. Stir in dry mix. Heat, stirring until it reaches a boil and is thick. You want it to coat the back of a spoon. If you want it to be thicker, for a crepe filling for example, boil it a little longer.
Makes around 1 cup of sauce.
