For those of you worried about raw eggs in your nog, this is the perfect recipe for you! This recipe is a family favorite passed down from Starlette’s mother-in-law. She also likes to add it to coffee cakes, cookies, and marshmallows. Double the recipe and share with friends!

Ingredients:
-1 pint whole milk
-1 cup heavy Cream or whipping cream
-1 can evaporated milk
-1/4 cup vanilla sugar
-2 Tablespoons vanilla extract
-1 Vanilla bean (Use the extract and bean from your mother jar or whatever you have will work great too!)
-3oz or more of rum (optional)
-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
-1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice seasoning or any combination you want to add.
-Sprinkle of nutmeg

Instructions:

1. Place ingredients in a blender [except the vanilla bean], blend on high for about a minute.

  1. Pour into a container
  2. Split the vanilla bean and add the seeds and bean to the eggnog and stir.
  3. Refrigerate
  4. Shake well before using. It’s best made in advance. Remove the whole bean before bottling for gifting.

**Note: This recipe can easily be made into regular eggnog by adding 1 egg yoke at the beginning and folding it in 4 whipped egg whites at the end.

A big thank you to Starlette for sharing her family recipe:)
