Description

We were able to get just a few pounds of grade B (extract grade) vanilla beans from a small farm in Kenya. Given the small quantity, we are offering them in 4oz sizes only.

These are dry, brittle pods. They may be cracked open and broken. They will have little to no external oil, but the oils are locked in the pods and they will make beautiful extracts. Sweet buttery vanilla with soft nots of plums and raisins.

Group buy products are bundled with other orders for additional savings, so they may not ship for 4-8 weeks.

These beans are wonderful for extract making, but since they are dry and brittle they can't be used in as many baking applications. They will provide you with an extract that is rich and beautiful.

Nestled between Uganda and Tanzania, Kenyan vanilla beans come from a familiar soil to those of you that love African vanilla beans as much as we do. Sweet, classic vanilla taste, with slight notes of raisins and plums. A delicious extract experience.

We named this vanilla bean the Nakuru after the city that is home to The Nakuru National Park, famous for Lake Nakuru that provides water to lions, giraffes, leopards, flamingos and countless other wildlife species that thrive is this tropical paradise.

(Flamingos on Lake Nakuru.)

These vanilla beans are usually between 4" and 7" inches long and have a dark brown color. Like all vanilla beans from VanillaPura, they are backed by our 100%, no questions asked satisfaction guarantee.

VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.

On average, there are 8 -16 of these grade B vanilla beans/oz depending on the moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 6-7 beans or as many as 20 beans. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.
