An extremely rare vanilla bean sourced from three different small family farms on the extreme southern end of Taiwan. Each farm is only 1-3 acres and the beans are grown in both green houses and under shade. Most of these vanilla beans are shipped to locations within Taiwan, Japan and Australia and we were able to secure some of the first-ever Taiwanese vanilla beans to ship to the US.

These are some of the highest quality vanilla beans that we have seen. It's not unusual to see white vanillin crystals forming on the outside of the oily pods - a sign a maticulous care taken during curing and transporting, as pictured here in our first sample that we reviewed:

These are big, V.planifolia beans with traditional buttery, vanilla bean taste. We immediately noticed hints of chocolate, caramel, toffee and a soft hint of dried fruit and raisins.

We named this vanilla bean The Kenting after the southern most city in the tropical region of southern Tawain.

VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.

On average, there are 3-6 beans/oz depending on the moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 2-3 beans or as many as 7-10 beans depending on each harvest, which is why we sell by weight and not by bean count. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.

Here's a recording of our Facebook like when we introduced this vanilla bean to our Facebook group, Making Vanilla Extract by VanillaPura.
